Borders Abbeys Pilgrim Tour
A self-guided walk between the four great ruined abbeys of the Scottish Borders along quiet riverside ways.
About this trip
The Borders Abbeys Way links the romantic ruins of Melrose, Dryburgh, Kelso and Jedburgh, founded by King David I in the 12th century and shattered by centuries of border warfare. This gentle four-day self-guided walk connects them on riverside paths and old railway lines through soft, rolling countryside.
Luggage is transferred between welcoming B&Bs, and a route pack, app and abbey guidebook are provided. With easy terrain and history at every turn, it's ideal for walkers who like their days steady and steeped in story.
